Emerson A. Shaw of Buckingham Township, PA passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017. He was 77.
Born in Clearfield, PA to the late Emerson A. Shaw, Sr. and Kathryn (Flickinger) Shaw, he resided in Carversville, PA for 38 years, before moving to the Buckingham Springs Community in 2015.
Emerson received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Lock Haven University and a Masters in Education Degree from Lehigh University in Guidance Counseling.
He was formerly employed as a Math Teacher with the Central Bucks School District and taught at the Tammanend Middle School and Central Bucks High School East for 35 years, retiring in 1996. Emerson also taught as a Math Instructor with the Bucks County Community College from 1994 until his retirement in 2016. He was an Usher and Treasurer with the Family of God Lutheran Church for 13 years. He tutored at the Bucks County Correctional Facility through VITA; enjoyed spending time with his family at Wildwood Crest, NJ; and was an avid baseball fan.
He was the beloved husband of 46 years to Sharon Lee Shaw; devoted father of Andrew Shaw and wife Kara, Jennifer Muntz and husband Edward; loving grandfather of Michael and Matthew Shaw; Jacob and Ryan Muntz.
A memorial service will be held at the Family of God Lutheran Church, 4770 Route 202, Buckingham, PA 18912 on Tuesday, May 23rd at 7 pm.
Cremation was private under the direction of the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home/Central Bucks Crematory, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901
