As kids growing up, you always looked forward to getting summertime off. I looked forward to going to Philadelphia to spend time with my best friend and her family, which always made me feel welcome and at home. Marian, (Mrs. E), taught me many things of which I cannot forget the word "chinkalini". I'm not sure of the spelling, but I'm fairly certain of the translation. That word stirs up memories, and every time I think of it, I get a warm feeling and have to chuckle.
She was always very thoughtful and caring. Even when my husband lost the use of both of his arms in 1995 and had a great deal of pain, she made a special trip to Hershey to try to help him - and she did. She had the magic touch and was a remarkable woman! She will truly be missed.
