Obituary for Anthony N. Mark Jr.

Anthony N. Mark, Jr. of Doylestown, PA passed away at his residence on Saturday, September 3, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was 85.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Anthony N. Mark, Sr. and Rose Mark, he resided in Ivyland, PA, before moving to Doylestown, PA in 2002.

Tony was a former owner and operator of Container Transport, Inc. of Philadelphia, which was his family’s trucking and transportation business for over 40 years. He later was employed with Woodrow & Associates of lower Gwynedd, PA and retired at the age of 79. Tony served in the Army during the Korean War; and enjoyed fishing, hunting, racquetball, snowmobiling, skiing, traveling and dancing…especially with his wife.

Tony was a wonderful, loving, positive man who was very proud of his family. His home was always filled with family and friends with whom he loved playing table, card and yard games. He enjoyed inventing, constructing and repairing things….a man of many talents. He never hesitated to help others in need.

He was the beloved husband of 63 years to Grace (Clark) Mark; devoted father of Anthony N. Mark, III and wife Marie; Linda Sullivan and husband Neil, Carol Lee Robinson and husband Jay, Bill Mark and wife Cecile; dear brother of the late Marie Zito, Annabelle Ferguson and Aveline Seitz; also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at the Varcoe-Thomas Funeral Home, 344 North Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901 on Wednesday, September 7th from 6:00-8:00 pm, with a service to be held during this time period. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, September 8th from 10:00-11:00 am prior to interment.

Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Horsham Twp., PA.
